P=A made for tv movie with plenty of recognizable faces in it ,but it's no where near as funny as it thinks it is.

There's plenty of talent in this film , but it feels wasted here. The movie's hollow and never reaches the goals it's aiming for. It's not horrible, but it's not great either ,it's a missed opportunity.

The one line summary. Sad girl is given cursed macguffin and lots of bad things happen.

I knew nothing about this film other than it was horror ,so I had no expectations going in . I feel there's something potentially great about this movie but it doesn't achieve that goal. It falls short . Polly's a complex , damaged and interesting character ,and the film is all about her journey . We get lots of snippets that hint at things but , overall ,it feels as if we're missing something that could make this movie more cohesive and fulfilling
I'm tempted to re-watch this film but there's too much self mutilation in it for me.
If one becomes available I'd like to listen to a commentary and hear what the director and Dakota were trying to achieve.
Overall this is a badly flawed gem which will leave many disappointed and probably frustrated.

My gf at the time absolutely LOVED this book. I remember her re-reading it many times until it was falling apart.

When you come to the topic of Elvis & JFK fighting ancient Egyptian mummies in Texas, no movie does it better ! !
